BFM's personnel includes both field and office personnel; we have four Registered Professional Land Surveyors on staff (with registrations for Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas).
BFM's personnel have worked in the region for up to half a century. In addition to our residential and commercial surveying expertise, BFM personnel have worked in the majority of industrial plants throughout the region; we are intimately familiar with all safety procedures and regulations for industrial plants. Further, our personnel, most notably our company officers, have a history of service to the region. BFM is also familiar with the practicing procedures of both the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Louisiana DOTD.
Additionally, BFM has performed services for numerous engineering firms, serving virtually every municipality in Louisiana and southern Mississippi, since the company's inception.

Ralph P. Fontcuberta, Jr., PLS has nearly half a century of experience in the field of surveying, and has been a registered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) since 1974. He founded BFM Corporation in 1982 after serving with another surveying firm for over 15 years. BFM Corporation serves clients throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, operating with 15 survey field crews with an office and field staff of nearly 50 employees. As BFM’s CEO, Mr. Fontcuberta oversees all work performed by the firm.
Mr. Fontcuberta is thoroughly knowledgeable in all facets of surveying: boundary, hydrographic, topographic, and right-of-way surveying, as well as residential, plant, and industrial layout. Since the beginning of his career, his work has entailed computations, drafting, and field work for various industrial, commercial, municipal, and private clients.
Project work has included topographic surveying needed for street and drainage design, as well as for sewer and water services designs. His work has included projects for the Mississippi Dept. of Transportation (MDOT), Louisiana Dept. of Transportation & Development (LADOTD), the Louisiana Dept. of Natural Resources (LADNR), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Dept. of the Navy, Entergy, BellSouth, and various municipalities and public/private entities.
